A Little Bit About Grounded Therapeutics

Hi! I’m Joe Orf, licensed massage therapist, Reiki Master, and founder of Grounded Therapeutics.  My mission is to provide PAIN RELIEF FOR ACTIVE BODIES.  I’ve been a massage therapist since 2016. Physical activity has been my passion for my entire life… from martial arts to rock climbing to running obstacle courses. In 1997 a back injury sidelined my physical activities, this is when I discovered massage and yoga as a natural process to heal my body.  Wanting to share this knowledge with others I earned  my yoga teacher certification in 2004.  After years of teaching yoga and observing the healing that yoga provided to the participants in my classes, I decided to take the next step and become a licensed massage therapist as well.

I created Grounded Therapeutics so that anyone who has pain that is keeping them from performing their best, or stopping them from doing the activity that they love, now have a place where they can find support and move forward.

Besides massage, the sessions can include assisted stretching, Reiki, essential oils. Specific yoga poses are often assigned as “homework”.

Prior to teaching yoga, I trained in martial arts for 12 years. While training at UMACA in St. Peters MO, I earned the rank of 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. While training and teaching Tae Kwon Do, I also studied the art of Tai Chi under the guidance of Master Jiru at MABA in Augusta MO. This furthered my training in the mind/body/breath connection.

I believe the principles of body alignment, mind/body connection, and breath awareness apply equally whether you are practicing yoga, or receiving a massage.
